PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY

The Great Commandment
Matthew 22:36-40
Jesus said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: love your neighbor as yourself. All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

The Great Commission
Mathew 28:18-20
Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey l the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The authority and basis of all of our ministries is the Lordship of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible. As such we believe there are two priorities for our church.
The first priority is the Great Commandment as found in Matthew 22:36-40. To love God and to love our fellow men and women is the fulfillment of all of all the commands of God. Therefore, we hold that our personal relationships with God, our own families, our fellow church members, and the members of our community must be treated as a priority in order to have an effective ministry The Great Commandment of Love must be the first priority for each member of the church and for the church as a whole.
The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) defines the other purpose of the church. We are to be “making disciples” in our own community and around the world. We believe it is God’s will for His church to grow spiritually and numerically. Christians are to work to this end. We must not only lead people to salvation and baptism, but also teach them to obey the teachings of Christ in order for them to grow spiritually.
Everything in our church life--whether programs, activities, or buildings--will be designed to fulfill the Great Commission through the right motivation of the Great Commandment of Love.
